On Monday, May 12, 2025, Life4HSP will be officially launched. The foundation is committed to finding a treatment and improving the lives of people with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP). Worldwide, as many as 800,000 people may suffer from this incurable hereditary disease.<\/p>\n

Dual purpose of Life4HSP<\/h3>\n

HSP veroorzaakt progressieve stijfheid en spasticiteit in de benen waardoor staan en lopen steeds moeilijker worden. Mensen met HSP hebben vaak uiteindelijk een rolstoel nodig. Op dit moment is er geen effectieve behandeling voor de erfelijke ziekte. Life4HSP richt zich op twee kerndoelen:<\/a> het ontwikkelen van medicatie om de voortgang van HSP te stoppen en zorgen voor trainingen en hulpmiddelen die de kwaliteit van leven van HSP-pati\u00ebnten verbeteren.<\/p>\n

By seeking cooperation at the European level, Life4HSP brings together knowledge, expertise, and resources, giving a boost to research into this rare condition.
